Emilio Adasme Campos

This piece is the result of an exploration of different procedures of lucid dreaming techniques. The music attempts to recreate moments of lucidity inside the mind of the dreamer and collision with reality on sudden awakenings. The constant rhythms reflect the clocking devices that help the dreamer to keep track of reality. Sonically, the piece contrasts synthetized sounds with flattened “home recorded” sounds to enhance the differentiation between both worlds. These contrasts are accompanied by glitched eclectic sounds that guide the exploration during the piece. Most sounds were processed with “hard-sampling” techniques and ambient sonorities were elaborated with FM synthesis in Max/Msp and Max 4 Live.
